Expert Solution

Let us first know that why should anyone use pc or tablet computers for their studies and work:

a) In these days of advanced technology using pc and tablet computers for their studies and work prepare the students for their digital future. Which is must in these days as everything has become online.

b) These learning or working techniques makes the people learn at their own without any dependency on others, which indeed is a good practice for long run.

c) A fact which we all must accept is learning online makes learning more interesting. Students can have virtual experiences while learning which makes them more interested towards their studies.

d) As most of the people in today's world work for software companies and for those which involves technology. It becomes necessary for people to use pc or tablet computers while working.

After knowing all the above uses of pc or tablet computer, we can now look into the best device we can use for our studies or work. As learning the use of them and then looking into the best for our use makes our decision more strong and accurate.

1) Coming to the replacement of Pc with tablet computer, it solely depends upon the users need and situation for the device.

As per me there are several cases which we must look into and then decide the best device to be used.

a) If the user needs the gadget for his/her schooling then a tablet computer will be the best choice because a tablet is much more portable and light weighted than a pc. As for schooling there will not be much need of advanced software and more memory, a tablet can tackle all the uses of that user.

b) In contrast, if the user needs the gadget for his/her higher studies with much use of memory and advanced software then he must go with pc as pc's are portable and can tackle all the needs of memory.

c) If the user needs the gadget for his/her office work then it will be better if he prefers pc because pc can perform all the desired works with much efficiency. The main reason I recommend pc is multitasking. In most of the tablets it is not possible to do multitasking i.e. loading different files at same time, opening different files at same time which is very much required at workspace.

d) It depends on the user’s situation if he/she is capable of buying a pc. If he is not much capable then he can go for tablet as they are much more affordable than pc.

In my case as I am pursuing my higher studies in a well known University. I would definitely go for a pc without replacing it with a tablet computer because throughout my day I use advanced software which occupies much space and multitasking is one of the main reason I use Pc. It becomes easy to switch between different tasks whereas in tablets it would be a bit difficult to switch. Also I use pc's because they have more computation ability.

So, I would not replace my pc with the tablet as per my needs.

2) Let us first know the meaning of the term "Computer Addicted" and then jump into the answer.

Computer addicted:

We state someone as computer addicted when they depend on computer for everything. They depend on their computer for change of their moods, for overcoming depression and anxiety. If they feel happy, they turn on the computer and play games, if they feel sad or depressed they do the same. At last computer addicted people depend on computers for everything they come across. Also, there is certain time limit above which one is called computer addicted. If an individual uses computer for more than 38 hours a week, on average, then he is undoubtedly computer addicted. In most of the cases computer addicted people neglect all their dear ones.

So, after knowing the term now let us know if I am computer addicted?

As I am pursuing higher studies, I spend at least 4 hours a day on computer which turns to 28 hours per week. I surely don't depend on computer for my moods. I share everything with my family and friends open heartedly. There are some cases where I neglect computer for my dear ones.

Considering all the above points I spend 24 hours per week, on average on computer. And yeah, I am not a computer addict. :)

Let me make sure that computer addiction is not a bad thing. In fact it can sometimes give fruitful results if the individual works for his dream. But one must overcome of depending on computer for everything.
