  • A landmark is a building or feature which is easily noticed and can be used to judge your position or the position of other buildings or features.An example of a landmark is the library that you turn after in your directions.Landmark is also defined as an event that changed history.An example of landmark is a legal case that is very important.
  • A landmark is a recognizable natural or artificial feature used for navigation, a feature that stands out from its near environment and is often visible from long distances. In modern use, the term can also be applied to smaller structures or features, that have become local or national symbols.
  • Monuments are built to remind people of the future about something people in present consider too important to forget.It is type of structure that was explicitly created to commemorate a person or event, or which has become important to a social group as a part of their remembrance of historic times or cultural heritage, or as an example of historic architecture.
  • Monuments generally refer to the buildings or some structure of national or international importance. There is no such thing as monument for the living or the dead, as the definition clearly does not mention that. Monuments are generally built out of respect or the importance of the person it is dedicated to leads to the construction of one. More often than not, monuments are built to commemorate important events,, examples being the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Gateway of India, both in Mumbai.
  • Another example is the Eiffel Tower, not dedicated to any personality but commemorating the French Revolution for its centenary.
  • A modal verb is a type of auxiliary verb (helping verb) that expresses necessity, possibility, permission, or ability. The most common modal verbs include must, shall, will, should, would, can, could, may, and might.A modal verb is a type of verb that is used to indicate modality – that is: likelihood, ability, permission and obligation. Examples include the English verbs can/could, may/might, must, will/would and shall/should.
  • Active voice describes a sentence where the subject performs the action stated by the verb. In passive voice sentences, the subject is acted upon by the verb.
  • When using active voice, the subject performs the action noted by the main verb. (As one site put it, the subject is a do-er or a be-er.) When using the passive voice, the subject is acted upon by another agent or an unknown something. (The subjects of passive sentences are not do-ers or be-ers.)
  • Example;
  • Harry ate six shrimp at dinner. (active)
  • At dinner, six shrimp were eaten by Harry. (passive)
  • Beautiful giraffes roam the savannah. (active)
  • The savannah is roamed by beautiful giraffes. (passive)
