Ps6chology is a scientific study of human and animal behaviour, emotions, motivation and mental processes . Psychology emerged as an independent discipline form the natural sciences and philosophy and it seeks to answer the question about the nature and functions of the mind and consciousness and it seeks to develop and test theories about the biological and environmental causes for human behaviour and actions.
In the broadest sense, psychologists are professionals in the field of Psychology who try to find and provide answers to questions ranging from the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of human cognition, emotions and behaviour so as to use the knowledge about human lives for understanding, predicting and controlling intraperosnal experiences such as mental illnesses, stress, cognitive development; interpersonal relationships which are influenced by processes such as conflicts, attraction; and social and cultural phenomenon such as intergroup conflict, socialization of religious beliefs, customs, education etc.
