In regard to the current global pandemic, What is the role of the Department of Homeland Security and in your opinion, is the DHS handling their role effectively. What Homeland Security apparatus have you seen in the news?

The role of the DHS in containing the pandemic is massive :

• Providing direct support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
• Conducting enhanced health screenings at airports.
• individuals with signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are identified and quarantined after checking their proper travel history. They are made to report to public health officials.
• Route maps are created of people who have been to China, Iran and other COVID-19 affected countries.
• The DHS along with CWMD got involved early and started the screening purpose which have helped ease the burden on other medical personnel.
• They enforce the proclamations of the president and alert all the departments and individuals who require health screening.
• Controlling rumors and other fake news that spread during the pandemic.

Yes, I think they are handling their role effectively. "Be like Mike" is a video that has been shown in the news which encourages people to come home by following the guidelines issued.
