A product is secreted by an exocrine organ. This means that:
(a) it is produced by endocrine cells
(b) is secreted into a duct
(c) is expressed/released onto a surface
(d) utilize blood and/or lymph circulation for dispersion
answer b & c
answer a & d
For a project where you were asked to regenerate an organ, which of the following stem cell types would you choose for the greatest success if you could only choose one?
totipotent
multipotent
pluripotent
undifferentiated
* ANSWER IS b&c.
exocrine glands usually secrete their products onto epithelial surfaces or into body cavities through tiny tubules which are known as ducts, they control short time activity. For example we can take salivary gland.
whereas endocrine glands won't have any ducts and they are directly drained into blood. They act so far from the site they are produced. Example is Thyroid gland.
* In the given options of stem cells I would choose totipotent stem cells for having greatest success in organ regeneration because totipotent stem cell can be differentiated to any type of cell which we need with high potency, for other example like zygote, morula
multipotent stem cells form one organ. It has limitations.
Pluripotent stem cell s can differentiate into cells of three germ layers only. Potential of differentiation is low.
but for research purposes pluripotent cells are more available than totipotent stem cells.
Undifferentiated stem cells are found in plants.
GOOD LUCK !! Hope my answer is helpful to you! Give it a big thumbs up.
