  1. Unification will lead to a more widely accepted product and it's sub parts. after the life of the product, the sub parts can be made to use in another application. e.g., mobile phones, they are more or less made up of same materials and after their useful lives their parts can be made to use in another phone thus decreasing the waste generated all along.
  2. Integrating the inter-connectivity with available energy and material flows will help us in studying the outcome of one on another and also to plan in a sustainable manner so as to minimize the effect on environment. e.g., installation of wind turbines or solar plants in area where there is abundance of wind or solar energy will help to decrease the reliability on non-renewable sources for power generation and thus conserving it.
  3. Separating and purification will lead to less waste generation and the waste that is generated will not cause that damage to the environment that it could have done if not treated. e.g., installation of electronic precipitators or other devices to limit the pollutants in the smoke coming out of thermal power plants will lead to separation and purification of the waste generated and can be further used as fly ash in construction industries.
  4. When the system is output pulled, it is driven by the extend of the finished product. we will try to make out system more efficient, utilizing all the components and minimizing the waste generated keeping the energy and material in check but in input pulled we are more concerned about increasing the production by increasing the input that we don't improve our system to use the product in more efficient manner.
  5. Waste is harmful in any form, so more effort should be on trying to minimizing the waste generation then to reducing it because waste once generated is harmful to the environment no matter how small amount it is. e.g., avoiding the use of polyethylene based or packed product in our household will lead to no residual waste polyethylene after it's use.
  6. If a product is universally accepted or is standardized then we can use it in various manners and then we won't have to make separate products every time thus reducing the waste generated.
