What is a a social problem related to the environment and caused qat least at in part by our growing population and its effects on our planet. Describe this problem and how it is linked to our growing population and the effect it as on the environment.
A social problem that is related to the environment is lack of continual supply of clean water for human uses and for other living things. Even though water is a renewable resource but like all things on planet Earth, it observed to be changing. This change is mostly is not caused by nature rather it is driven by human activities such as population growth, migration, Climate change, land use change and energy choices and global poverty. For the interest of our present and future of our children, we must resolve to overcome or adapt to these driving forces and prevent the problems associated with declining and degraded water resources.
To overcome the declining and degraded water resources the way we view and use water must evolve. We must recognize each cause that is responsible and seek to mitigate them as far as possible. People should be made aware to make better choices about water resources. For example, use of recycle water for watering the plants and save the clean water for drinking purposes. There is a need to design water infrastructure such as rain water harvesting systems and ground water recharging waterbodies. The scientific community can come up with the ways to better monitoring, modeling, and forecasting of our water future, so that decision makers have better information upon which to act. The awareness and motivation towards water sustainability must be brought at the individual, community and national level then only meaningful difference will be realized.
