My Question: How do you run the appropriate chi square test on this data in SPSS? I need to know how to set it up in SPSS and the step by step procedures. What goes in the data view/variable view and how do I run the test?
when you open the SPSS you find this...
Here enter your data .
click analyze thn descriptive statistics thn on crosstab...
select your variables from here and press the arrow to fill it in rows and columns.
If you want to display clustered bar chart thn click the check box.
Otherwise proceed further and
Then press "statistics" in right side.
And you get a display like this
Select the " chi squared" and " phi and cramer's v "
Then click continue
Thn click "cells" button on right...
And you get a display like this
There select "observed" from count area
Row column and total from percentages area
Thn click continue button
Thn format button
Thn you will be presented with a display like this
Where you are asked to select data in
Assending order or descending order
Select one thn continue....
And then Ok button to generate your output...
You will get crosstab and chi square both...
You can now do it easily
