Humanistic school of psychology resonates with me more as it
focuses on having an optimistic view about the human nature. When
using it in the form of client centered therapy,it helps to focus
on the individual and not the problem,it focuses on making the
client take the lead in the session.
A humanistic therapist focuses on making an individual, realize
their truest potential and solve problems on their own.It focuses
on making an individual independent enough to deal with their
problems.
This school of thought helps to facilitate personal growth and
development and eliminate any kind of negative feelings, and
increases the person's sense of self esteem and openness to
experience. As a therapist I could help the client develop an
understanding about themselves and improve their self
expression, leading to improving their overall mental health by
developing a positive outlook about themselves.
