How convincing are each of these contentions made by deep ecologists: that our environmental problems are caused by our being too individualistic; that our environmental problems are caused by our reductionism; that our environmental problems are caused by our consumerism?

The contentions made by ecologists that: our environmental problems are caused by our being too individualistic, by our reductionism and by our consumerism is very convincing. this can be explained using an example-
We can take the example of chlorofluorocarbons, in the 19th century when it was discovered that chlorofluorocarbons have a tendency to make bonds with the Ozone layer and destroy or deplete it. manufacturers of refrigerators alongside their supporters influence the people with these ideologies- if only I stop to use CFC products, then it will not do any significant difference to stop the depletion of Ozone layer, if CFC is so bad then we can replace it with a substituent and then ban it and new products are available now which use alternatives from chlorofluorocarbons in products like refrigerator and air conditioners.
All these ideologies describe individualism, reductionism and consumerism and they all contribute to degradation of the environment by being ignorant in nature and evidence for the factors that products involving the use of chlorofluorocarbons were being used by many developing nations for as long as late 20th century.
