Genetic trait referes to any genetically determined characterstics, it is specific characterstics of an individual, for eg, the blood group of an individual or color of hair or eye of an individual, genes that are passed on to the individual from his parents determine many of your traits, such as your hair color or skin color, traits are also determined by the interaction with the enviornment with genes.
A specific sequence of DNA at a known location on a chromosome is known as genetic marker. There are many genetic marker on each chromosomes. Genetic markers can be used to identify individuals or species in a population, they can be used tio identify genes involved in inherited disease. In human genome the most common type of genetic markers are Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) they are the most common type of genetic variation among people, each SNP represents a difference in a single nucleotide, for eg, SNP may replace nucleotide cytosine with nucleotide thiamine in a certtain stretch of DNA
