In view of the several corporate scams that have occurred over the years, corporations are under increasing pressure from their governments to ensure they are governed and run properly. From a regulatory perspective, explore in detail how corporations can accomplish this.
From the perspective of regulators, there are quite a few ways by which proper governance in corporations can be ensured:
1. Rights and equitable treatment of shareholders: All the shareholders must be conveyed information correctly and at the same time and the shareholders should be encouraged to attend the annual general meetings
2. Interests of other stakeholders like employees, suppliers, creditors, local communities etc should also be kept in mind while making decisions.
