For the last several years scientists have fretted over the future of bees, and although research has shed much light on the crisis, there is still debate on the causes and costs of this issue. In no more than 500 words state your opinion on this topic.
Bees are some of the most important pollinators. These form one of the most important species to the humans. These are responsible in pollinating approximately 70 crop species of around 100 crop species that people around the world consume. This implies, that bees call for almost $30 billion every year through crops. So, if the bees are lost or extinct, it would mean that the crops that are being pollinated by the bees would not be in future. Moreover, all the animals that would be dependent on those particular crops, would no longer be able to consume those, this implies, the global human population that survives on vegetation or even animals, would be difficult to pull on. Also, the economies would suffer, as a result of lower number of fruits as well as vegetables.
The rate at which we are losing bees has become strangely very high. This is because there has been huge losses in meadows, changes in the climate as well as the increased use of pesticides for maintenance of the crops. It has been seen that there has been a constant decline in the cropping of honey bees. Around the 1950s the crop yields were around 25-45 kg end n has now steadily declined to 11.8 kg. This, also raises a question on the future of bees. This is because of the pesticides, especially neonicontinoids that has led to the decline. Moreover, there is also a fear that the varrao mite pests are also a reason of this decrease.
It is being said that the present condition of honeybees can be I,proved by planting thdcorrecf type of shrubs as well as flowers. It has to be taken care that any plant that is planted should be rich in nectar as well as pollen.
