Describe four ways in which adult thinking differs from adolescent thinking. Don't make this up - find it in the text. Give specific examples to show that you understand each of them
Adolescents' thinking is the formal operational type but the post formal operational thinking of adults is based on more practical experiences.
Adults develop a higher level of thinking known as dialectical thinking. Dialectical thinking is a type of thinking in which they consider all the opposite ideas, bind them all together, and form a new idea.
Adult's thinking is based on relativism. Relativistic thinking is the understanding that reality and its mental processes are relative, its only based on the various learned perspective. So, adults know that reality is dynamic. But adolescents do not understand relativism.
Thinking of adolescents changes while they enter into adult age. Thinking shifts from dualism that is extreme thinking of right and wrong type to the multiplicity that now they understand that some problems can be solved and some answers are not yet know.
