Answer each question in at least 5 sentences:
First Question: What is the major difference between these 2 phenomenon?
In psychology, the Stroop effect is the delay in reaction time between congruent and incongruent stimuli. The effect has been used to create a psychological test (the Stroop test) that is widely used in clinical practice and investigation.
On the other hand, the Simon effect is the finding that the difference in accuracy or reaction time between trials in which stimulus and response are on the same side. The responses are generally slower and less accurate when the stimulus and response are on opposite sides.
Second Question:
Response compatibility:Response compatibility is the degree to which a person's perception of the world is compatible with the required action.
Spatial compatibility: A spatial compatibility effect can be demonstrated when both stimuli are on one side of the body midline and the response keys are on both sides, and even when both the stimuli and the response keys are on one side of the body midline (for relevant stimulus location).
When designing a work system, spatial compatibility is an important consideration in human-machine interface design. It refers to the situation where the selection of a response is directly related to the position of the related stimulus. It is also important for ergonomics point of view in the industry.
