Here I am going to explain about data warehouse.

Data ware housing is an approach that accomplish the goals on huge amount of electronic data stored in recent years . As per oracle web site a data warehouse is “a database designed to enable business intelligence activities: it exists to help users understand and enhance their organization's performance.” A data warehouse is constructed by integrating data from multiple heterogeneous sources.

It has some limitations ETL (Extraction, Transaction & Limitation). For example in a typical scenario, a large corporation has many branches, managing people need to evaluate the each branch performance at that time it is useful.   In order to meet managing people needs data ware house provides tailor made queries that can perfectly fit for their needs.

In addition to a relational database a data ware house environment includes a transportation, extraction, and loading solution, statistical analysis reporting, and data mining capabilities. Data warehousing and OLTP are distinct to each other. Data warehouse helps us to analysis workload of both analysis workload and transaction workload.

Characteristics of data warehouse:

1. High speed performance
2. Large amount of data
3. Querying on large datasets
4. Simple and structured data
5. Data load involves multiple sources and transformations.

Typically a data warehouse can perform the below tasks

1. users security
2. managing schema objects and data warehouse new releases.
3. Configuring an oracle database for use as a data warehouse.
4. Generate reports
5. Performance monitoring
