2. Knowing this information, how can you be sensitive to a patients belief in a culture bound syndrome as opposed to a medical diagnosis?

CULTURE
-It is a set of patterns of human activity within a community or social group and symbolic structures that give significant to such activity.
CULTURAL BOND SYNDROME
-It is a collection of signs and symptoms which are restricted to a special cultures by reason of some psychological features.They are usually restricted to a specific settings.
-It is a combination of psychiatric symptoms that are considered to be a recognizable disease only within a special cultures.
MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS
-It is a process of determining any disease or condition with help of signs and symptoms which a person experience.

Yes,culture bound syndromes tie into medical diagnoses.Because a person with cultural bond syndrome show some symptoms include attacks of crying,trembling,shouting,verbal aggression,aggressive physical moment,etc..By assessing these signs and symptoms,we can diagnosis the cultural bond syndrome.
2)
-As a mesimed care giver, patient and their beliefs and customs are the first preference. When the patient opposed the medical diagnosis, kindly and clearly teach or health educate them about the importance of medical diagnosis and treatment.
-In some culture,they don't believe in medical science and medical treatment.Because of this,the majority of the people was surrendered to many life threatening disease and death.
-When there is a proper diagnosis and treatment,many life-threatening disease can be prevented and help to lead a healthy life.

Yes,I have an experience with the culture bound syndromes discussed here,when I was in clinical practice.It was the first experience in my life.I can experience more than whay I studied in the theory classes.

It's an African concept which refer to a condition experienced by high school or University students In response to challenges of schooling.
2.LOCURA
It is used in US and Latin America to refer to a severe form of chronic psychosis. The person show the symptoms like agitation,auditory and visual hallucination,inability to follow rules of social interaction and violence.
3.LATAH
It was commonly seen in Malayan woman. They may experience increased sturtle response,Automatic obediance,Echolalia and Echopraxia.
