Find and analyze an article (first published in the last 28 days) about some topic dealing with nutrition and/or exercise addressing a hypothesis. This can come from a newspaper, magazine or other periodical.Analyze the article and address the following:
1. What hypothesis was tested?
2. How was it tested?
3. Was the hypothesis supported or rejected?
4. Is the sponsor of the science mentioned? This could be a university where research was conducted, a company that supplied funding, etc. Do you think the sponsor may have influenced the science? By that I mean do you think the source of funding could lead to a conflict of interest?
5. What are some implications of this research?
6. What could you do if you wanted to find out more about the topic? Be more specific.
To address above mentioned question I am considered the article entitled as “In vivo elongation of thin filaments results in heart failure” published in PloS One on January 3, 2020.
(1 )authors have proposed the following hypothesis “ Lmod2 overexpression would result in increased length of cardiac thin filament
(2) Authors have generated transgenic mice with overexpressed cardiac-specific leiomodin-2 and measured the length of thin filament using microscopic study.
(3) Hypothesis was supported as authors have observed that overexpression of Lmod2 significantly increased the length of thin filaments
(4) Yes, sponsor of the science mentioned in the paper. The authors declare that no conflict of interest.
(5) The study sheds light on the role of Lmod2 expression on cardiac function and cardiomyopathy.
(6) To find more about the topic use the keywords “Lmod2 in cardiac function” Lmod2 protein-protein interaction and cardiomyopath, Lmod2 mutation and cardiomyopathy. We can also refer to the reference provided in the paper
