How does the social and emotional well-being of an atypical student differ from that of a typical student regarding reading fluency and comprehension development? How can you approach diversity in development in reading, fluency, and comprehension development from a place of compassion and empathy? Provide specific examples.
Typical student having all the necessary intelligence and language learning skills learn reading and comprehension according to their age and class in which they are studying, but in case of atypical student or a special kid who may have specific learning disability ,may not be fluent in reading ,may have difficulties in comprehension and thus learning a language too ,such atypical students will often be emotionally distressed and may have low self esteem, may sometimes feel socially embarrassed due to lack of skills. Difficulty in Learning ,reading and comprehension will have negative effects on their emotional well being and may make the child socially withdrawn.
It is this necessary to understand that every student is unique and posses different abilities. There can be few atypical students who lack development in reading and comprehension but they may surely process some different abilities,it is important to find what that student is good at and nurture that particular ability.
Approach to such atypical students must be different while teaching, special education techniques should be utilized by teachers for development of reading, fluency and comprehension.
Teachers and parents should understand their child's difficulty and help thier child to face this problem and also provide them with special training with compassion. One should totally empathize these kids because for atypical students it is really difficult to learn and study with thier lacking abilities.
