Water hardness summer vs winter....
Can some one give me a one paragraph response to why is water more harder in the winter than the summer.
thank you!
yes, water becomes harder in winter than summer.
The actual definition of water hardness is the amount of dissolvemagnesium and calcium in the water.that means it contain high amount of dissolved minerals.this property is not a health concern, but it can be a nuisance.the important thing is water hardness can vary with the season ,it is more in winter than summer.Because the water system using ground water as a source are concerned with water hardness, since as water move through rock and soil it dissolves small amound of naturally occuring minerals including calcium, magnesium etc and carries them into ground water supply, because water is a natural solvent.much of the water contained in river and lake is provide directly from ground water ,in winter surface runoff after rain and low snow melt will decrease the surface water amound in the river, cause increase in the ground water amount and that why there is high amount of dissolved mineral and water become hard.but this is variable,as in summer river contain more surface water than ground water, this make less hardness.
