Provide a chemical definitation of the following:
1- Equilibrium Constant
2- Le Chatelier princeiple.
3- Dynamic equilibrium
1.A reaction's equilibrium constant, Keq, measures the extent to which reactants are converted to products by the reaction. Equilibrium constants are found by multiplying the concentrations of the reaction's products raised to the power of their stoichiometric coefficients divided by the multiplication product of the concentrations of its reactants raised to the power of their stoichiometric coefficients.
a simple case of a reaction in which substances A and B have reached equilibrium with one another - shown by the reverse arrow.
A B
the equilibrium constant, Keq, is equal to:
Keq = [B]/[A]
2.Le Chatelier's principle
When a system at equilibrium is subjected to change in concentration, temperature, volume, or pressure, then the system readjusts itself to (partially) counteract the effect of the applied change and a new equilibrium is established.
3.A reaction is at dynamic equilibrium if the rate of the forward reaction is equal to the rate of the reverse reaction.A dynamic equilibrium exists once a reversible reaction ceases to change its ratio of reactants/products, but substances move between the chemicals at an equal rate, meaning there is no net change
