Think about an interteam challenge or conflict that you have either been part of or have observed in your organization. Describe what the issues were and discuss what steps you would take to reduce the chances of conflict escalation between the teams if you saw this occurring in the future.
The testing and development team in most of the organization will have conflicts. The development team will build the product and the testing team will look for bugs in the product. The development team in my previous company thought the testing team raised the defects that were not important for the product release. The development team wanted less number of bugs from the testing team so that they can finish the work soon and deliver the project. The testing team is asked to find as many bugs as possible so that the product is stable and robust. So the teams always had some issues while working together and it sometimes got escalated to the top management level. I would have asked the development team to coordinate with the testing team when they detect bugs in the system. Delivering a quality product is very important for the company to maintain its reputation and customer satisfaction is very important to get future business. So the testing team should be appreciated for their efforts and I would have asked the development team to fix the bugs with patience and properly so that the product quality is maintained. I would also create a rule that the development team cannot complain if the testing team identifies a good number of bugs and they need to make sure they fix them properly before delivering the product.
