Expert Solution

Industrial technologies are evolving day by day there is no exception in the case of construction industry. But the most recent develoments extend beyond building equipment. The evolution of construction is often described as a new equipment.Companies area researching and implementing construction technology are reaping the rewards with increased productivity, better collaboration and completing projects on time and under budget resulting in higher profit margins.New technologies streamline construction project management processes and reduce wastes. This include scheduling, tracking, performance, equipment maintenance and collaboration between teams. The new technologies used in construction industries are BIM(Building information modelling),3D printing,Robotics,Augumented reality and usage of Drones. All these technologies improves the construction of a building projects from its initial planning stage to the sucessful completion atgreat quality.Use of technologies increases qualitry of works, efficiency, and it reduces time delay, sometimes it reduces overall costs in some cases,it improves safetyand above all that introduction of technologies helps the companies to handover the projects to cleints at the exact time with exact quality upto the satisfaction of the clients.Introduction of most modern technology iuncreases the dignity of the company also.It has become accepted by the professionals trhat specialised technology is the future of of the trade and likely to become the new normal for project execution.

a.) Building information modelling(BIM)

Building information modelling(BIM) uses 3D modelling to improve construction at all of its stages starting from initial planning to final delivery of the project and it ilaso optimize company procedures. It transforms the way in which the company design ,build, operate the buildings and infrastructure.it also helps to improve decisionmaking, assessing companies performance throughout the building project's lifecycle..BIM increases productivity, reduces wastes, captures reality, enhances collaborationand improves project control.it can also overcome some important problems that may arise during studying the project details and sharing project choices and all that.

b.) 3D Printing

3D Printing is considered as the future of construction. It reduces cost, increases the speed of construction, enhances complex architechtural shapes. This form of technology is still under developmenmt but progressing day by day.The printer which is similar in look to small scale crane, sets layers of concrete mixtures.3D printing is very useful if there is an urgent need of building. For example 3D printed houses will be a great solution for the immediate need of homes for the people who have lost their shelters by unpredictable and sudden physical disasters or natural calamities such as earthquake ,tsunamis or for those in proverty.

c.) Robotics

Robots or Robotics is an example of how construction industry will developed in coming years by the use of most modern technologies.Mnay tsks incolved in the construction industry are repetativein nature and highly measurable. So introduction of robotics or usage of robots may reduce the time taken for such tasks thereby the projects can be comlpleted much more faster than using manpower. The robots which can lay bricks ,build walls, clear rubble, dig holes and do other tasks are getting better and smarter. Many jobs which cause repetition base physical injuries and issues can be automated with robots. Many of the machines and tools used on site will also be automated by using robots.Robotics is a contoversial topic and illustrates the tensionand dynamic of progress which is exhibited by many of these construction tech examples.

d.) Augumented Reality

Augumented reality combines both real and digital experience into one immersive environment.AR creats 3D images on a person's physical surroundings as they walkthrough with a mobile device or special helmet.AR unit is able to present real time data, updating and displaying the necessary informationabout each and every corners of the building as the user moves through the building space using GPS and cameras.Informations such as schedules, operational details and structural plans are easily accessible allowing users to automate the construction process and make deciosions at the site itaself.Because of its ability to provide real time information augumented reality is used in the construction industry to increase efficiency, improve safety, streamline collaboration,to manage costs and overall to boost up the project development.

e.) Drones

Drones are the most widely used emerging construction technology.Site surveys can be conducted more quickly and accurately than done by using a surveying crew on the ground .Usage of dones is much more cheaper than taking aerial images.Their high resolutrion cameras and the data collected can createinteractive 3D or topographical maps and models and take volume measure accurately.Another advantage of using drone is its ability to inspect places which is very hard for surveying crew to reach such as on bridges or on and around tall buildings and to do it safely.Driones can also used by company's higher official to closely monitor the progress of work at the worksite.

Japan and Germany are two success stories of economic growth. Although today they are economic superpowers, in 1945 the economies of both countries were in shambles. World War II had destroyed much of their capital stocks. In the decades after the war, however, these two countries experienced some of the most rapid growth rates on record. Between 1948 and 1972, output per person grew at 8.2 percent per year in Japan and 5.7 percent per year in Germany, compared to...

In some industries, securing the adoption of an industry standard that is favourable to one’s own product is an enormous advantage. It can involve marketing efforts that grow more productive the larger the product’s market share. Microsoft’s Windows is an excellent example. In the above situation of long run production function with all inputs as variable, justify this statement using a diagram and your own examples to explain the returns to scale.

INNOVATION IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY The construction industry has been criticized because of its low productivity and quality in comparison with other industries. One of the main reasons is the industry suffers from a lack of innovation. Thanks to digitalization, innovative technologies and new construction techniques had been introduced recently. This is reflected with the rapid emergence of augmented reality, drones, 3D scanning and printing, Building Information Modelling (BIM), autonomous equipment and advanced building materials. By adopting and exploiting these...
