21:00. How are you going to operate your safety round? Note that
the ship in UMS mood from 17: 00-21: 00.
2) If you are the duty engineer and your reliever come to replace
you. What are the things that you are going to inform him? And
explain why.
3)Why is it important to be familiar with the ship that you join
within a short time? Write in not less than 60 words.
4)Discusses the significance of emergency plans found on board
ships, and give two examples. (5Marks)
1. Familiarise himself with the procedures of safety management system and comply with same.
2. Watch keeping duties at sea.
3. Supervision of Engine room machinery while in use.
4. Additionally Supervision of pumping machinery while in use on Tankers and gas carriers.
5. Carry out emergency duties as per emergency response procedures and as directed by command and control.
6. Engine room watches in port during loading and unloading.
7. Carry out repairs and maintenance as instructed by the 2nd Engineer Officer in particular to the air compressors, auxiliary generators, air conditioning plant, emergency fire pump, quick closing valves, sea suction valves and all portable fire fighting equipment in engine room.
8. Maintain record of repairs and maintenance carried out an inventor of stores and spares for such machineries and equipments.
9. To assist Chief Engineer Officer during bunkering.
10. Compliance with the company’s documented safety and security procedures.
14. To prepare handing over notes along
with report while signing off the vessel.
15. To acquaint himself and prepare for the rank above.
