describe how you would prepare 1.25L of a 0.025 M sucrose solution from a stock solution with concentration of 5.00 M.
According to law of dilution MV = M'V'
Where
M = Molarity of stock solution = 5.00 M
V = Volume of stock solution taken = ?
M' = Molarity of dilute solution = 0.025 M
V' = Volume of the dilute solution = 1.25 L
Plug the values we get V = M'V' / M
= ( 0.025 x 1.25 ) / 5.00
= 6.25x10 -3 L
= 6.25 mL Since 1L = 10 3 mL
So exactly take 6.25 mL of 5.00 M stock solution of sucrose in a beaker and make up the solution untill we get 1.25 L with distilled water, we get the required solution,
