President of the United States and Republican Richard Nixon has been abusing his presidential power to retain his seat. He conducted many illegal activities such as illegal campaign contributions, illegal use of the military, spying, attacking his opponents, and bribery.
His first crime was associated with the Watergate scandal where burglars broke into the Democratic party office located in the Watergate complex trying to steal information and wiretapping the phone calls. They were caught in the act of crime and investigations by police led to President Nixon's involvement. To cover-up the evidence, Nixon took aggressive actions but the Reporter's persistence revealed his true colors to the public. He resigned but his actions made the people of America question the leadership of their country. They started distrusting the politicians because of this and the relationship between the people and government took the negative turn.
