Given the sample: 6, 8, 13, 10, 7, x, and knowing that the median is equal to 9. Find the possible values of x

Solutions

Expert Solution

If we order the numbers

6 7 8 10 13

And then place the median between 8 and 10 6 7 8 9 10 13

We can see that the median is the average of 8 &10. X must be the third value on the right side of 9. However it must be at least 10, otherwise the median would change.

atleast 10
