In 150 words, explain how Robinson Crusoe found a meaning behind his misfortune of being cast away in a desolate island, and how this line of reasoning shaped his worldview.
Robinson Crusoe had a misfortune of being cast away in a desolate island. He was very brave and self dependent and did not lose hope and tried to live in the wilderness of the secluded island. He not only survived but lived beautifully with whatever he could get in the island. He fetched arms, tools and supplies from the ship before it sank. He beautifully built a fenced-in habitat near a cave which he excavated. He created him own clender by making marks on a wooden cross. He hunts, raises goats and even grows barley, rice, raisins and grapes. He learns to make pottery also. He takes care of three animals that were with him, the captain's dog and two cats. He reads the Bible, keeps pets including parrot, becomes religious and even converts a prisoner to Christianity and teaches him English.
So Robinson found a meaningful experience for this misfortune of being stranded in a desolate island and this shaped the way he looked at the world. He realized that we can be totally independent in all harships and still make the world a beautiful place to live with whatever we have with us. The world is as beautiful as we can make it and we should live to the fullest. He also realized that one should never break down under difficult cirmcumstances and harships in life. Rather face all hardships with courage and faith in God. He also did not forget to read the Bible in this hard time. So, to be successful we need to work hard and at the same time develop the spiritual side of ours as well. He also converted even criminals to Christianity and taught them English. This shows that one should not only build a strong character for himslef but also guide and propagate noble ideas and spiritualism to others.
