Actually one pound of body fat is equal to 3500 calories. So, it is important to loose 3500 calories from the dietary intake to reduce 1 pound of body fat. Thus, it is recommended by dietitians to reduce 500 calories per day which will result in losing 1 pound of body fat within 7 days. So, it would be completely wrong to say that 1 pound of body fat can be reduced by exercising for just 3500 seconds. Also, 3500 seconds equal to approximately 58 minutes. It is impossible to loose 1 pound of body fat in less than one hour.
2. True
Estimated energy requirement (EER) refers to the daily calories requirement necessary for maintaining the healthy body weight. It is important to keep balance between the energy input to the energy output to maintain healthy body weight. Thus, EER can be mathematically calculated by estimating the level of physical activity of a person. Physical activity is categorized into 4 groups- sedentary, low-active, active and extremely active. Physical activity level is multiplied by the basal metabolic rate (BMR) of a person in order to get estimated energy requirements. BMR refers to amount of calories required by the body to accomplish basic internal functions such as breathing, respiration, blood circulation and nutrients cycling.

Body mass index (BMI) acts as an indicator of obesity and overweight. It is a mathematical prediction that can be calculated by dividing the body weight (in kilograms) by the square of body height (in meters). According to the BMI, a person can be classified as underweight (<18.5 Kg/m2), normal weight (18.5-24.9 Kg/m2), overweight (25-29.9 Kg/m2) and obese (30 and above Kg/m2).
