Motile gametes are present in all fungal species. Motile gametes are known as plano gametes. Some primitive fungal species produces it.

In case of fungal sexual reproduction the gametes are always haploid (n) they become diploid(2n) after fusion. One gamete is male gamete and the other is female. The gametes may be morphologically same or different. Sexual reproduction also began with hyphae contact.
