for my mechatronics class, we are asked to do a project that involves a mechatronic system.

I was hoping to also apply some control systems to my project, but cannot think of any good, cost-effective examples to conduct.

tools at my disposal include lab view and an assortment of circuit parts and a bread board with an arduino power supply. I also have a myDAQ port that can connect to LabVIEW.

any ideas are greatly appreciated, as I am struggling to find ideas.

We are currently studying Coase's Theory of the Firm in our economics class. My instructor asked this question, and I am genuinely lost on how to respond: "I love to do yard work! I know it's a bit strange but I enjoy mowing and working in the flower beds. One of the perks is the price; I work for free! This has always been a good help in keeping our yard looking great! Well, now that we are getting a...

You have been asked to work, as an adviser, on a major infrastructure project. It involves a response to the prospect of coastal flooding. The investment suggested is to build a seawall. Critically assess this suggestion. [We are particularly interested in how your advice would be structured, based on whether the situation we are dealing with (the prospect of coastal flooding) represents a “risky”, “uncertain”, or “fundamentally uncertain” situation.]

This is for my finance class and I am a bit stuck. We're asked to use the Delta hedging formula (i.e. how much stock to hold) for the multiperiod binomial model to confirm that a financial derivative paying the stock price at time t=N (i.e. V_N = S_N) must be priced with V_0 = S_0 today.

This project involves a new type of widget. We think we can sell 6,000 units of the widget per year at a price of $950 each. Variable costs will run about $400 per unit and the product should have a four-year life. Fixed costs for the project $450,000 per year and we will need to invest a total of $1,200,000 in manufacturing equipment. The equipment will be depreciated using MACRS over 7 years. In my physics class, we are going over the Doppler Effect. We were given four different equations for two different scenarios: - When the observer is stationary but the source is moving - When the observer is moving but the source is stationary I was given a problem where both the observer AND the source are moving at some velocity. The source is emitting a given frequency while traveling at a given velocity. The observer is OBSERVING that frequency at...
