Explain the advantages and disadvantages of populations of sexually reproducing organisms over populations of asexually reproducing organisms. Also, include the following in your original post:
• Address this from a molecular perspective as well as from a
larger, environmental perspective.
• Describe the two events that are common to all sexually
reproducing organisms and how they fit into the different life
cycles of those organisms.
• Highlight three specific examples of reproduction from your
text.
The advantages of sexually reproducing organisms are:
I. They have genetic variation between the individual of the population. This genetic variation help them to survive in diverse environmental conditions.
II. A high level of genetic allow the sexually reproducing organisms allow more disease resistance to them.
The disadvantages of sexually reproducing organisms are:
I. Lower rate of reproduction in the as compared to asexual reproduction.
II. The sexual reproduction organism could not able to survive when number of predator increases.
Two events that are common among all sexually reproducing organisms are
I. Formation of gametes
II. Formation of zygote.
The examples are
I. Flowering plants perform sexual reproduction.
II. Protozoa like paramecium caudarum perform sexual reproduction.
