CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT
From the late 1800s to the mid-1900s unions fought for and won improvements for labor which were later adopted by government laws and regulations for all workers. Which part of labor law and regulation was not originally won by unions:
Mandated overtime after a 40 hour work week |
||
Safety regulations |
||
Equal opportunity and affirmative action |
||
Pension regulations |
By the mid 1900s because of the various movements and the sufferings of the labours and their union made the government to help them and think about them and their basic urges.
So various bills was passed and later on labour laws and act came and then various ammendments are also there which clearly shown up that they won the overtime rule after 40 hours of work a week
And equal opportunities and affirmitive action came after that the division of posts and giving them name started so that the labour word doesn't sound teasing and various division were made and wages were decided accordingly.
Pension regulations were there but not directly indirectly labour class people came under the poverty line and hence eligible for pension.
But till that time safety regulations were not in the picture because there are lack of resources and the technology as of now so the focus towards the safety was very less infact labour unions also don't fight for these type of regulations at that time they only thought of the wages and the treatment given to them during work and further opportunities etc.
