1. Explain in your own words why regulation is important. I would like you to use 2 examples, one from human communities and one from the human body in your explanation. Make sure to include how regulation is enabled in each case (i.e. how is communication occurring?).
2. In order for an effector to respond to a command via either of the endocrine or nervous system, it must be able to respond to a chemical (hormone or neurotransmitter). Explain how the effector is able to respond to these chemical signals (i.e. what must it have either in its membrane or inside its cells). Describe how this process of intercellular communication exemplifies the relationship between structure and function.
The human body comprises of many physiological processes. Hence if there will be no regulation between these physiological processes than it is impossible for a human being to sustain its life.
Case 1 :
Let us take the case of the regulation of FSH and LH. the gonadotropin secreting hormone stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete FSH & LH. Than the sex hormones and sexual structures are grow accordingly. Hence depending upon the amount of the male and female sex hormone the signal ls are send to the hypothalamus and the secretion of gonadotropin hormone is regulated accordingly.
Case :2
Similarly when a male see a female and arouses sexual desire the sex hormones are acting so as to increase the flow of blood more in to the also male sex helpsorgan and help in a good sexual intercourse ,also other sex hormones are secreted at that time. Hence different behaviours of humans are regulated by the different hormones secreted in our body and regulations of our body processes takes place to make our survival possible in the community.
Answer for second question
summary for the pictures
In this way after getting the proper signals through nervous system in synapse (acetylcholine ) or hormone, the cells are getting activated to show responses and to act accordingly. The also the signals are received by the suitable organs or structures and they perform their functions
