in your own words explain the colonies of New England. Why are they important in the discussion of colonial America? What did they Contribute? only 10 sentence.
The colonies of New England were important as they included some of the major parts of colonial America which included Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The first permanent settlers were Puritans that arrived by 1620. They wanted to establish a settlement that the whole world would look upto. They were a strong sect of protestants and believed that they should be more aggressive in the approach that they take against the Roman Catholic church. They also wanted to build a settlement where the people were not governed by the persecution of the throne. Religious disputes started showing up owing to which they had to leave the parts of Rhode Island and Connecticut. Agricultural land was not common when it came to New England and thus many were involved in business as opposed to farming. Therefore, we can see that they contributed in several ways by bringing in different cultures and practices in America.
