Explain the definition of AR (Augmented Reality) and suggest further problems about expanding services from it.
Augmented reality
Augmented reality (also known as AR) is a kind of reality where live views of physical real-world are augmented with the help of technology. With the help of Augmented reality, information like sounds, images and text are superimposed. The origin of the word augmented is
augment, which means to add something. In the case of Augmented Reality graphics, sounds, text and touch feedback are added into our physical real world. Pokemon Go is a good example of AR
Problems in Augmented Reality
1. Education about Augmented reality
AR is not familiar to everyone. It has a broad market. People aren’t exposed to AR regularly and are unaware of its wide range of applications in their daily lives. Even if you built it, people won't necessarily buy it because of its cost.
2. public spaces are getting destroyed
We know that Public spaces belong to us all but if some firms develop AR then it could easily upset the public. Though AR is only accessible through a device, we might see a future where the public can veto certain types of augmentation to preserve the dignity of their local environments.
3. There will be some Lag in Real Time
AR objects will never be like the real one because no technology is perfect. In order to feel real, AR needs to be as fast as reality. For example, if you are wearing google glasses, It will not respond correctly because there will be some movement of your head all the time. so we can't fully rely on a web service to manipulate the real time things.
4. It doesn't have reliable power
As we know that current generation phones have very short battery life. AR technology will require a long last battery life so this is one of the challenges for AR devices.
