Explain if the founders of the U.S. Constitution supported
direct democracy or not?
The founders of the U.S. Constitution did not support direct
democracy. Instead, they believed in representative democracy or as
they liked to call it, representative republic. "In a
representative democracy, the will of the majority is expressed
through smaller groups of individuals elected by the people to act
as their representatives. These representatives are responsible to
the people for their conduct and can be voted out of office"
(Sidlow, Govt 9). It should be noted that the founders did not
believe in having a king or queen, which is why they preferred the
term representative republic vs representative democracy.
The founder of the U S constitution don't support the direct democracy as they feel it would be better for the nation as per the time will pass . The constitution marker is the person who have studied the countries politics and peoples need and requirements and now the situation of the nation and its demand , so he had taken a good decision over the representative democracy as with this people will get the opportunities to take there problems to the higher authority and get it solved in short period of time and with the help of this the small group representative will be able to get in reach to there people time to time will be able to know there problems and can help them as per there requirements and if he is not doing there works as per the public needs then they can be voted out from the office . It will help the higher authority to get into touch with the public and knowing the problem and changes in the society and they will be knowing the action need to maintain the stability in the society .
where as in the rule of the king and queen they will not be knowing all the problems the society is suffering from and cannot be able to get in touch with them specifically which will lead to the imbalance in the society stability and people will not be able to get there problems solved and they donot have the right to vote them out from there authority due to which they have be like servants of them and they have to follow there rule with out any complaints
