Ans1.. In 2013, absolute majority-owned U.S. associate of foreign firms employed “6.1 million people”. In a step-up to these direct jobs, foreign direct investment contributes to a number of indirect jobs as well. However, little is known about the total number of jobs credited to FDI in the United States. In step-up to ‘6.1’ million direct jobs, there are ‘2.4’ million indirect jobs credited to the economic activity of foreign firms and' 3.5' million indirect jobs ascribable to technology outcome from foreign firms, for a total of '12 million jobs' due to to FDI in the United States.
