When the migrants in the film are caught by immigration authorities and returned to El Salvador, what are some of the fears and dangerous associated with going back to their communities?
One of the most important factors contributing to people moving to prosperous countries is because they wanted to live prosperously. People in the developing countries and underdeveloped countries face a lot of turmoil and trouble because of the socio, economic and political scenarios. If they are sent back to their countries, it would cause lots of economical and psychological impacts both on the people who are sent back, their families and their communities. For an individual, it would be a great loss because the person would have spent all the money that they had in order to come to developed countries looking for a better life. When they are sent back it would land a huge economic loss and disappointment. For the family members, it would shatter all their hopes because they would have dreamt of a better life as they sacrificed all they had to send someone from their family to go to a foreign land expected a good life back home. The community as a whole will develop a negative mindset towards the developed countries because of their discrimination. They would also feel that so far, the developed countries used them as labors to make their countries prosper but now they don’t want them. They would feel that they were used for the selfish gains of the developed countries. It took lots of developing and underdeveloped countries to sacrifice their dreams because of the developed countries’ exploitations.
