The process i would follow to terminate staff in accordance with legal and organisational requirements where serious misconduct occurs or ongoing poor-performance continues have following steps-

The first step will be set written policies and code of ethics in place which will guide the behavior of employees. These policies and codes will help employees to know what should they do or what they should not do?

for example- it is prohibited to abuse, fight and drink alocohol at work premises.

The second step will be setting standards of performance for employees and communicate those standards to employees. These standards will help us to assess the performance of employees

The third step will be measure the performance of employees by comparing them with standards.

if employees will show poor performance below standards then manager will provide feedback on regular basis so that employees can improve thier performance.

In the last step is managing follow up in which manager will take disciplinary action against employees who failed to prove themselves regualarly or violate company's policies and code then employees will be terminated in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
