What is the function of the nervous system? What are neurons? What are their functions? These main questions require that you know the basics of electrical and chemical aspects of neural information processing (action potential generation and transmission, synaptic transmission, reuptake mechanisms etc.).
The nervous system is a complex part of the human body which is made up of nerve cells and fiber that helps in the tramission of singals in the different parts of a human body. The main functions of human body are as follows: a) Sensory function: The nervous system gathers informations and signals from receptors which are later sent to the central nervous sytem with the help of nerves and neurons.
b) Integration: The fuctions helps in processing the sensory signals which are used for taking desisons, evaluting, etc.
c) Motor: The responses that are genreated comes under motor functions. The signals are from central nervous system and primary nervous system to the body muscles and glands.
The neuron is a cell and a unit of the human brain that transmits information and signals to different types of cells and body muscles.
The major faction of the neurons are: a) Recieveing or getting signals through dendrites.
b) Transmitting and giving out signals to the different types of cells in the body.
