Nuclear Energy

There are different public opinions about using nuclear energy in producing electrical energy. Nuclear reactors are associated with harmful nuclear radiation and there is a problem of the storage of the nuclear waste. Discuss this issue from a scientific point of view giving your stand and explain why.

Perfect energy sources cannot be find in this world.Every energy source has advantages as well as disadvantages. When selecting energy sources it is important to select energy sources which are less harmful to the environment and which gives maximum benufit. Science is developing technology to fullfill human needs in a environmental friendly manner. In the case of nuclear power it is a prominant alternative for the rapid increasing energy need.It is emvironmental friendly way as it emmits less green house gases with respect to other ways of electricity generating. There are many advantages of nuclear power, it is a already developed technology, it has relatively low operating cost,it has a large mount of power generating capacity, nuclear waste can be reduced by recycling and reprocessing. There are some hazards in nuclear power too. It need high construction cost, there is a high known risk in an accident, it produce considerable harm to environment. The main problem is the nuclear waste last long time about200-500 thousand years.According to my point of view though it is accepted as a dangerous potentially problemetic way of generating power it can be used managebly.

Nuclear fission and electrical energy Electrical energy currently produced by nuclear reactors is derived from the decay of 235 92U, through a process known as nuclear fission, whereby a slow-moving neutron is captured by the 235 92U nucleus, creating 236 92U. The uranium nucleus 236 92U is very unstable, and it will immediately decay into two lighter elements and release neutrons. Some of the neutrons will go on to destabilize other nuclei, creating a chain reaction. During fission reactions the...

The therm dataset contains information on survey respondents’ opinions about various public figures. These are “feeling thermometer” scores, which range from 0 (total dislike of the person) to 100 (total like). The relevant variables for this question are: • white: a dummy variable indicating whether the respondent is white (ie, 1 for white and 0 for non-white) • ideology: the respondent’s ideology on a scale of 1 (most liberal) to 7 (most conservative) • obama: the respondent’s “feeling thermometer” score...
