Being Engineer is not just complete process but there are ethics that one need to fallow with the dignity while handling a project.

there are many factors to be taken into account while working on such kind of sites. The labourers working need to be peoperly skilled, machinaries used should be used with care without causing any damages to other buildings.

if heavy machinaries are used due to the vibrations caused during the operation it might cause problem to the adjcent building. As a engineer if a small crack or damage caused during the operation the work has to stopped and inspection need to done at the same time the owner of the house need to be informed about the damage.

*before carrying out the work , if any adjacent building exist we need to check the condition of the building and if there is any damage prior to the start of our work it need to brought to the notice of the owner so that further problem wont extist to the work to be carried out.

*a builder need to have standard practices to have suitable contractors all risk insurance, a policy that covers are the risks associated with the proejct and this also tells us should builder or Enginner incharge should cause damage to the adjacent building while carrying out the work.

*such problems need to be discussed with all the people in the work from higher official to the working labourers and we ourselves cant taken up decision over when the problem need to involved with many other people.

*The owner of the adjacent building need to be guided and advised properly with honesty and integrity, and make sure that building is brought back to its original conditions. one has to follow professional ethics and no careless need to be done as it invoves with lives of the problem with problem becomes more due to negligance.

*project might get delayed oe cancelled at half way if complaints are made by the owner of the adjacent building which would again results in finacial problem and increment in the total estimated amount.

so ,if the ethics and principles are fallowed, the chances of getting things under control are very high.
