The night before submission, his laptop was stolen, and he lost his three weeks of effort. The following day, his lecturer could not buy his story and insisted that John did not do his project and was trying to come up with excuses. His friend then advised him that he could have backed-up his work. Required: Clearly outline the steps that John could have taken to prevent the loss of his project. (25)

Since the Laptop was stolen for that all data is no longer available to john  for physical access of the data. In future if  john follows some prerequisite steps he can overcome this problem even if the physical device was lost, these prerequisite steps are follows :
