Ans: SMART Objectives for Alternative Marketing
A marketing strategy has to be effective and it should support long-term business goals. Your product may be the best in the world but if people don’t know about it you will never be able to sale it. Hence, besides traditional marketing strategies pursuing alternative marketing to promote and publicize a product provides a great option.
Alternative marketing can help in making a quick splash in the market and in people’s conscious before the more traditional marketing methods take effect. One can engage people through social media, distribute flyers, put up posters in a neighborhood, or make program announcements as part of an alternative marketing strategy. But before proceeding with this alternative marketing campaign some SMART objectives have to be in place that can make help in making this campaign a successful one.
So, what are these SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-based) Objectives for Alternative Marketing?
Specific – The alternative marketing campaign team should stick to the specific goal of promoting a product. It should be the focus on promoting only this product to drive sales and grow the business.
Measurable –The team should have a definite number of sites/places in mind where they will go and promote this product and they should strictly abide by it.
Attainable – The target set for them should be achievable i.e. the number of promotions they have set out to do should be achieved.
Realistic – If the team is successful in achieving the above objectives, it will boost the image of the product and the company and will help in driving sales of the product.
Time-Based – The team should achieve all these objectives in a time-bound manner so that those adjustments can be made to the campaign if desired results are not achieved and progress can be made in the areas which are lacking.
