can perceptions be right or wrong in your opion? does it even matter if people are right or wrong?
In my opinion, judgements of right or wrong do not wholly apply to the phenomenon of perception. Not everyone has the same views. Right and wrong are rather moral categories . Two individuals may differ in their views on the same issue where one of them may assess the situation as morally right while the other does not. Right and wrong are more like a social or individualistic definition of something based on our ideas and previous experiences as members of a particular society, culture, religion and/ or peer group.
It needs to be pointed that since perceptions influence our thinking about objects, events and people, which in turn can lead to positive or negative thoughts and judgements, perceptions can be said to be the basis of our values which defines our views about something as right and wrong. However, this does not mean that perceptions in themselves are subject to moral categories. As right and wrong belong to the category of judgement which is defined as an attitude or moral evaluation of something as good or bad, right or wrong. On the other hand, perception refers to an immediate or intuitive recognition or appreciation of moral, psychological, or aesthetic qualities.
