Dubai Metro-A ECO FREINDLY TRANSPORT

Abstract

As per WWF 2008 Report Dubai reported the highest carbon footprint city in the world. and as a UAE was 45th highest carbon footprint in the world. But over the years has evloved to a more sustainable and eco friendly transport systems.

Some of the people are trying to think out of the box and try to implement the Sustainable Transportation System in the city of Dubai, but due to the lack of Awareness , it is not loacted in all around the city.

If the city tries to improve and aim to to implement it , then the city has to make an Milestone again.

Introduction

Today Dubai is the one of the best city in the world to live with great lifestyle, sports and many other activities. But with these , ont the other hand these Infrastructure comes the destrcution of the envrionemental balance and increasing the Carbon footprint and increasing the Global Warming and The Ozone layer Depletion.

Although Dubai has taken steps towards Sustainaibilty , but many people are not satisfied with methods of sustainablity. Though to improve the conditions of the city and to make it a pollution free city collabrition of all the people ,civil bodies and the Government is very important.

Dubai Metro

Once such Milestone is the Dubai metro. Dubai Metro is the longest fully automated rail system and whcih would have around 47 Stations. Stations are the part of the Public Transport System and will help in reducing the carbon footprint.

These structures are made in such a way that , the rationalization and optimization of these structures made them lighter and efficient using less structural tonnage. It operates on the clean fuel (electric) and has an advance Regnerative brakes system which regenrates electricity while slowing down.

The construction of the Metro has been Environmental friendly using dust control system,ventilation, noise control ,etc. The concept of energy conservation in the Dubai Metro is based on choosing the best power techniques and energy efficient equipment distribution. The use of highly insulated cladding to reduce comfort cooling loads and thereby lower energy usage. The amount of glazing and the orientation were optimized to allow controlled natural daylight to enter the interiors but also to prevent excessive solar gains. The Control of excessive solar gains using solar shading devices, again reducing cooling loads and lowering energy usage. Energy efficient light fittings were specified, and their numbers optimized. Natural light itself was used as much as practical for the Underground stations, thereby lessening energy usage.

Advanatages of Eco Friendly Transportation

1. It helps to ease the Traffic Congestion and thus imrpoving the air quality.

2. It produces less noise , therby reducing the noise level.

3. It generates opportunities for Electronic industry to make more invention and thus to make a clean Environment,

4. It reduces the Carbon footprint and making the clean atomosphere.

5.They consume least energy and thus saves Energy.

DisAdvantages

1. The major issue is the high price.

2.Lack of Awareness.

My opnion on the this is that Eco Friendly Transportation system should be adopted to make the Earth a better place and help clean our Environment and make save the resources for our future ,so that they can see this beautiful world.
