INTRODUCTION :- Implicit bias refers to such aspect which generally takes place in our day to day life, but we are not constantly aware about it,because it is not present at our conscious level, yet creates significant impact on our thinking and perspective. It is one such connection to the views and thoughts of the people surrounding us,or in some situation to the group to which we belongs to.It is due to the this connection and bias we start adopting the views of other people with which we belong to,that we start showing prejudice behavior.
WHAT ROLE DO YOU THINK IMPLICIT BIASES PLAY IN PERPETUATING DISCRIMINATION?
Implicit bias plays an important role in perpetuating discrimination. It can be seen from the fact that,as such these bias does not work on our conscious level, and gets us more often connected with the thoughts of others members of group,as a result this connection lead to sense of togetherness in us,which is due to fact of liking each other. So,in the process of togetherness we tend to adopt their views as well, which might be even disliking others who does not belong with us.As such these all things take place in the level of mind which is unconscious,a person tends to behave in similar manner as other members of group,so if they are discriminating others,so,the person who is being effected by implicit bias may even show similar behavior, thus leading to perpetuate discrimination, which was earlier not present.
