VENTURIMETER
Venturimeter is a very old and simple device that measures flow rate in pipes.It is a highly accurate measurement device which measures flow of incompressible fluids It does not have any moving part. Internal parts of the venturimeter are assumed to be frictionless.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Venturimeter works on Bernoulli’s theroem and also uses continuity equation.Venturi Meter doesn't have any abrupt variation of cross section along its length.
A venturimeter can be divided by into following parts
Flow is measured by reducing cross sectional area (throat) which creates pressure difference and this pressure difference is used in measuring flow rate,
"venturmeter can be used in any rientatioon of the pipe"
Venturmeter is one of the best example of use Bernoulli'ssequation in flow measurement.
