Facility Management During & After Defect Liability Period (DLP)?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Facility management is the process of professionally managing the support services to make sure the delivery process of these services run effectively and efficiently in the organisation like security, building infrastructure etc.

The facility management during the defect liability period helps in monitoring the defects or the repairs which are found in the infrastructure of the company built by the contractor. DLP is a period where the warranty is provided to the management to make sure no defect ariss or no repair is needed for the production or services provided. If anyd defect is detected duting the SLP, the contractor is then notified and is given the opportunity to repair the same. If the same contractor is unable or unwilling to fix the repair for the damage detected, the purchaser or the facility manager has the right to use the funds retained for the contractor for the same coverage of the damage. The contractor is then not liable for the funds retained.

After the DLP is over, if no defects were found or if any discovered were repaied effectively by te contractor, then the retention money is returned back to the contactor or the defects liability guarantee to be released as a stipulated in the contract.
